When using our pet service the normal procedure is that we would collect you from your door, load your personal belongings aboard our dedicated vehicle and then drive you to the ferry port, stopping regularly along the way for walks and water. If the journey is longer than it is possible to drive in any one day, we would normally pre book accommodations en route.
The vehicle in which you would travel in for this service is a people carrier which has four comfortable passenger seats along with enough space for your pets and luggage. The vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, privacy glass, on
board entertainment and telephone.
They are however, like all our vehicles, non smoking. If you wish to smoke we are quite happy to stop on a regular basis
which will allow you to smoke whilst we walk the pets. Sometimes our customers wish totake a small amount of elongings as well as their animals, on these ccassions the journey would be made in a
transit sized vehicle, this allows you to carry some furniture and belongings and we would gladly give you details on either.
THE FERRY
During the ferry crossing if by day you will be provided with a seat, and if by night we provide a cabin for your comfort. It is possible to upgrade at any time either from a seat to a cabin or a standard cabin to a luxury cabin with balcony, tv etc. The ferries have a good selection of restaurants, shops and entertainment, these services are not inclusive of your price from us, and whilst on board we undertake the care of your animals, although you are quite welcome to visit them with us during travel
The Pont-Aven: Onboard Facilities
The Pont-Aven offers guests fantastic facilities, including a range of entertainment and relaxation options normally only found on cruise ships.
Pool & Leisure Area: The magnificent all-weather pool area offers guests the perfect opportunity to unwind. Relax on a sun lounger, sip a drink at the bar, or have a splash in the pool. The retractable glass panels allow you to make the most of this area, come rain or shine. The pool is outlined with stone and granite and offers great sea-views. Shows: The ship’s talented entertainers put on a number of shows, including live music, magic shows, quizzes, and DJs. Performances are held throughout the day and last into the small hours. On Deck: For a stroll, the Promenade on deck six allows you to walk all around the ship, while the ship’s top deck offers a calm spot to relax, while enjoying the sea air and incredible views, particularly when entering or leaving the port.
Cinemas: enjoy the latest films in the ship’s two cinemas, both featuring surround sound. The cinemas seat a total of 90 passengers. Casino: Try your luck in our big-prize slot machines. Children’s playroom: Young children can enjoy fun and games in our supervised playroom. Teenage Room: The games room on deck nine will keep teenagers entertained throughout the trip. Highlights include the latest video games and an air hockey table. Lounges: There are a number of lounges on board, where you can relax: • Reclining Seats. This room on deck nine offers 47 comfortable reclining seats for passengers without a cabin. • Commodore Lounge. This exclusive room on deck eight is for suite passengers, and includes access to two side patio areas. • Mezzanine. The spacious lounge on the mezzanine level of the main bar includes comfortable lounge chairs and sofas.
DEFRA
It is important to understand the laws when transporting your animals as they are very strict.
We require confirmation from yourselves that you have a valid DEFRA approved veterinary certificate showing that the pet(s) travelling havebeen micro chipped, vaccinated and blood tested for antibodies to rabies.
Also that they have a valid DEFR approved certificate showing the animals have been treated against ticks and fox tapeworms not less that 24 hours and no more than 48 hours prior to departing the continent. It is advisable to follow the same rules when leaving the UK as if you change your mind and wish to travel home again, your animals would have to stay in quarantine for 6 months and it can work out very expensive.
